Canada-U.S. relations just experienced a major shock when truck protesters closed several border crossings including the Ambassador Bridge, which carries one-quarter of all bilateral trade and is the busiest commercial crossing in the world. This came after the so-called “freedom convoy” arrived in Ottawa and was emulated in other capitals in Canada, the United States, and Europe.
