Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar
Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar is the Sigamos Haciendo Historia en Chiapas (Let's Continue Making History in Chiapas) candidate for the governorship of Chiapas. Born in Comitán de Domínguez, Chiapas in 1977, Ramírez holds a law degree from the Universidad Realística de México, a master’s degree in Constitutional Law from the Manuel José de Rojas Institute of Higher Studies, and a doctorate in Political Science from the National Institute of Physical Studies.
Ramírez served as a Municipal Trustee of Comitán in 2001 and as interim President in 2003. He then served as Constitutional Municipal President of Comitán from 2008 to 2010. In 2012, he was elected as a federal deputy, and in 2013, Ramírez became Secretary General of the Government of Chiapas. In 2015, he was President of the Board of Directors of the Local Congress and President of the Political Coordination Board in Chiapas.
In 2018, Ramírez joined Morena and was elected to serve as Senator, a position for which he was reelected in 2021. He also served as President of the Board of Directors of the governing party. In 2023, Ramírez was named the coordinator of Morena in the Senate.
