The Wilson Center’s Latin America Program and Science and Technology Innovation Program have launched an initiative examining the potential impacts of artificial intelligence (AI) on economic development and productivity in Latin America. The initiative includes the Wilson Center Working Group on AI Governance in Latin America, composed of leading policy, technology, and regulatory experts from Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Uruguay, and it involves research, private dialogues, and public events to generate policy ideas to accelerate the responsible development of AI technologies in this region and maximize positive impacts.
