Through its Iván Duque Center for Prosperity and Freedom (IDCPF), the Wilson Center aims to remind policymakers of the crucial importance of the Western Hemisphere for both the US and the world. It will also give new attention to both the challenges and opportunities the Hemisphere is facing.
Why Prosperity? The Hemisphere plays an integral role in fostering economic growth by harnessing private enterprise through strategic trade and investments opportunities.
Why Freedom? It is important to shine a spotlight on tyrannies in the region who continue to commit human rights abuses and atrocities. The Western Hemisphere can lead the international community in supporting democratic values, mitigating climate extremes, responding to human displacement, and strengthening our supply chains.
