Margarita González Saravia
Margarita González Saravia is the Sigamos Haciento Historia en Morelos (Let's Continue Making History in Morelos) candidate for the governorship of Morelos. Born in 1956 in Morelos, she holds a degree in Tourism from the National Council for the Evaluation of Social Development Policy (Coneval). González has over 30 years of experience in the tourism sector, and has founded various organizations, including the National Association for Waterparks. She was a founding member of both the Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD) and Morena. She has held several positions in the government of Morelos, including Undersecretary of Tourism, where she was responsible for promoting, coordinating, and developing artistic and cultural activities. In Cuernavaca, she served as Secretary of Social Development, where she was in charge of implementing the Municipality's General Program of Social Development. She most recently served as the Director of Mexico’s National Lottery, a position which she left in 2023 to compete in the gubernatorial race.
