Iqaluit Fiber Optic Connection

Government of Nunavut. Plan calls for construction of a 1,700-km fiber optic cable to connect Iqaluit with Nuuk, Greenland. The Government of Nunavut will design and execute the project, which should be completed by 2023. The Government of Canada will provide $151 million to support the project, while the Government of Nunavut has already committed $30 million. Potential for later extension to other communities in Nunavut.
