Smart Take | The Israel-Hamas War: Hezbollah Deterred, but for How Long?

Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, recently made his first public comments on the Israel-Hamas War, indicating that, at least for now, the group will not escalate its involvement beyond the cross-border rocket exchanges that have taken place on Israel’s northern border. But this could change as the war evolves. 

David Hale, former Ambassador to Pakistan, Lebanon, and Jordan, discusses Hezbollah’s role in the Israel-Hamas war up until this point, the various scenarios under which Israeli fighting with Hezbollah could escalate, and the importance of developing a consistent, bipartisan strategy towards Iran, that many believe is using its proxies to position itself as a power-player in the Middle East.
