"On the Subjects of Political Economy: Moscow Economists Assemble the Future, 1956-2012"

Project Summary

This proposal is to support a dissertation project that is the first anthropological study of the dynamics of economy knowledge production and of the relationship of that knowledge to the state. The object of study is the inter-generational "expert community" of economists in Moscow universities, research institutes, think tanks, and state organs.
