Full Biography
Medical Surgeon, graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM by its acronym in Spanish). He has studies in Global Health Diplomacy from The State University of New York. Previously, he served as National Medical Coordinator at the Health Institute for Wellbeing (INSABI, by its acronym in Spanish), where he was responsible for the recruitment and training of health professionals. From 2018 to 2019, he was the Director General of International Relations at the Secretariat of Health of Mexico. On February 16, 2021, he was appointed, by President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, as a new Federal Commissioner for Protection against Sanitary Risks (COFEPRIS, by its acronym in Spanish).
