Expert Bio

Althea Lloyd is a Program Coordinator with the Wilson Center’s Global Women’s Leadership Initiative, and brings her international education and experience to her new role.

Most recently, she served as a Project Assistant for Business Development at International Development Group LLC (IDG) where she assisted in developing and driving IDG’s short and long-term strategic vision for global portfolios. As a Graduate Associate at Democracy International, Inc., her range of experience has included analytical services as well as project start-up, implementation, and closeout assistance to USAID and government agencies.

Outside of work, Althea provides logistical and operational support as a volunteer for the Center for Peace Education, a nonprofit organization teaching peace, mediation, and conflict resolution to vulnerable communities in Liberia.

Althea holds a MS in Peace Operations Policy from George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government where she focused on post-conflict reconstruction, recovery, and development.
