Alya Alaali

Ms. Alya Alaali serves as the Executive Director of Strategy and Transformation at Tamkeen, an organization that supports private sector enterprises and individuals to drive economic growth in Bahrain. Alya joined Tamkeen in April 2019 as Manager of Impact Assessment, followed by Manager in the Transformation Management Office from May - December 2021, when she was promoted to Executive Director of Strategy and Transformation.

Prior to Tamkeen, Alya was the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Huloul Center for Development & Policies, a social enterprise that aims to empower Arab youth to educate themselves about pressing economic and social issues. From January - November 2013, Alya served as an Education Specialist for the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C., later to serve as the Advisor to the Executive Director of the Board of Directors. Alya worked for the Bahrain Economic Development Board from 2008 - 2011.

Alya earned a Bachelor of Applied Science from University of Otago and a Master of Public Administration from Syracuse University.
