Expert Bio

'Ana Stringer is from Utqiagvik, Alaska and is 21 years old. For the past two years, she has worked as a college intern for the North Slope Borough Department of Wildlife Management, working on educational and outreach initiatives to decrease local marine debris through community and youth engagement approaches. She is currently studying Earth & Environmental Science and Environmental Sociology at Vanderbilt University and is conducting climate research on the North Slope region, using models to understand how sea ice and wind speeds along the coast will change over the next century. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a PhD in environmental science & management and return to Alaska to work.
