Andrew Rotter is the Charles A. Dana Chair in History at Colgate University, where he has taught since 1988.  His most recent book is Hiroshima: The World's Bomb (Oxford U. Press, 2008), and he is at work on a study of two empires (the British in India, the American in the Philippines) and the five senses.
