    Full Biography

    Mr. Ahmed has served as minister of communications and information technology in Iraq since 2020. He has had a long and distinguished career within the ministry, serving a number of different roles for the ministry itself and the public telecommunications company, where he most recently acted as general director in 2017. He has also served as an elected member of the administrative council of the company for three consecutive terms from 2012-2019. Mr. Ahmed is a member of several associations of engineers, including the Union of Iraqi Supervisory Engineers, member of the Union of Arab engineers, and member the Confederation for Arab Information Technology. Mr. Ahmed is from Baghdad, and received his Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Mustansariya.
