Full Biography
Cristian Lorenzo is a researcher at the Austral Center for Scientific Research in Ushuaia, Argentina, part of the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET). He also lectures at the Universidad Nacional de Tierra del Fuego and is a member of the Standing Committee on the Humanities and Social Sciences (SC-HASS) in the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR). He recently edited the book Latin America in Times of Global Environmental Change, published by Springer, and coedited the special volume by The Polar Journal on Latin America and Antarctica in December 2019. He was also chair of the Biennial Conference of SCAR SC-HASS, “Antarctic Connections at the End of the World: Understanding the Past and Shaping the Future” (2019). He received his master’s degree from FLACSO in Buenos Aires and his PhD in international relations from the Universidad de Salvador in Argentina.
