Expert Bio

David Morales has been International Organization for Migration's (IOM) Information Management and Research Officer for the Northern Triangle since 2014, and currently oversees the Northern Triangle Migration Management Initiative in the region. Mr. Morales also co-leads the Displacement Tracking Matrix team in the Northern Triangle and regularly travels to other regions to support IOM’s global operations. Prior to joining IOM, Morales worked for Save the Children El Salvador in various posts. An economist, he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Escuela Superior de Economía y Negocios, El Salvador, and a Master’s Degree in Media and Governance from Keio University, Japan. He speaks Spanish, English, Japanese, Portuguese and Italian.
