Expert Bio

Deseree Chacha was the Director’s Office Intern with the Stafford Capacity Building Internship at the Wilson Center Africa Program for the Summer 2023 term. She is currently a rising senior at the George Washington University, where she is pursuing a BA in International Affairs with a concentration in Africa. She is also heavily involved on campus as she is the current President of the African Student Association. Deseree is from Tanzania and proficient in Swahili but was born and raised in Maryland. Her main interests in Africa include youth and gender equality as well as economic development.
