Elena Gapova

Elena Gapova is Professor at the Department of Sociology, Western Michigan University. She is the founder of the Centre for Gender Studies at European Humanities University in Minsk (currently Belarusian 'university-in-exile' in Lithuania). She writes extensively about nation building, gender, class, and intellectuals in Belarus and in the post-Soviet region more generally. Her most recent book "The Classes of Nations; the Feminist Critique of Nationbuilding" was published by New Literary Observer Publishers in Moscow in 2016.
