Expert Bio

Fermin Vivanco has over 25 years of experience in inclusive finance. Since 2000, he has worked at the IDB managing projects that promote social enterprises, inclusive and effective payments and remittance markets, rural businesses, savings, new technologies and digital finance delivery channels. Within the IDB Lab, he has been a thematic leader in Financial Inclusion and Inclusive Cities and has directed studies and publications on many topics, including remittances, savings for retirement and the silver economy. He was previously a Senior Director of Operations at ACCION International in Boston, and in Mexico City.
