Expert Bio

Fernando Alvear Artaza serves as the General Manager of the Chilean Confederation of Production and Commerce (Spanish:  CPC – Confederación de la Producción y del Comercio). Founded in 1935, the CPC is one of the major commercial advocacy groups in Chile, representing various industries and business sectors across the country.

Prior to his role at CPC, Mr. Alvear was President of the National Supermarket Association, and before that worked in the financial services industry. He has more than thirty years of experience working in the private sector and has also served on the Chilean government’s Committee for Foreign Direct Investment. He holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and completed a post-graduate degree in macroeconomics at the Universidad de Chile.
