Gabrielle Trebat, Managing Director, leads the Brazil & Southern Cone practice at McLarty Associates.

Ms. Trebat brings over 20 years of experience working with governments across Latin America to promote opportunities for increased trade and investment. Prior to joining MA in 2011, Ms. Trebat served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Business Affairs and Public Liaison at the US Department of Treasury, where she managed Treasury’s strategic engagement with the private sector, labor, and NGO communities on a range of priorities. A dual national of Brazil and the United States, she previously served as Executive Director of the Brazil-US Business Council at the US Chamber of Commerce, where she was responsible for promoting the bilateral trade and investment relationship representing the interests of foreign direct investors in Brazil. At the Council on Competitiveness from 2001-2007, Ms. Trebat served as Director of the Global Program where she managed the global institutional partnerships of the Council across Latin America, Europe and Japan.

Ms. Trebat worked for Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut from 1995 to 1997 and on the Gore-Lieberman presidential campaign in 2000.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce (BACC) and the Advisory Board of the Wilson Center’s Latin American Program. She is the Co-Chair of the Western Hemisphere Program of the Association of Women in International Trade (WIIT).

Ms. Trebat has a BA from Duke University and an MA from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) with concentrations in international affairs, international economic policy, and Latin American studies. She speaks Portuguese and Spanish.
