Gary Slaiman is the managing member of Slaiman Consulting LLC, a federal government relations consultancy based in Washington DC.  Slaiman is a member of the Executive Committee for the Business Advisory Group on Migration and an adviser to the Business Mechanism of the Global Forum for Migration and Development. Gary is also Corporate Outreach Advisor to Talent Beyond Boundaries, an innovative international NGO which connects the private sector to a new talent pool: those displaced by crisis. TBB has successfully worked with its candidates, corporate partners facing critical skills gaps and governments to develop durable solutions for the displaced through work visas and regular migration pathways.

Slaiman has long contributed to international policy development of better functioning regular migration pathways. He actively engaged in the consultations and negotiations in the lead up to the Global Compact on Migration both as a representative of the private sector and as advisor to Talent Beyond Boundaries. Following the September 2016 adoption of the New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants, he presented at numerous panels and papers related to the Compact, engaged in formal and informal negotiations at the December 2017 stock-taking sessions in Puerto Vallarta, attended and intervened at each of the week long negotiating sessions in New York from February to July 2018, and attended and addressed the International Conference to Adopt the Global Compact in December 2018 in Marrakesh. Since adoption of the Compact, he has continued to work on the implementation of the Compact and broader migration policy issues through his work on behalf of the private sector and TBB.

Prior to his private sector consulting work and his partnership in several US based global law firms, Slaiman served as Chief Counsel and Staff Director to the US Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions for the Subcommittee on Labor and as Counsel to the US Senate Judiciary Committee under then Chairman Joe Biden for the Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy and Consumer Rights. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia.
