January 15-August 15, 1985- Young Scholars Program - "The Politics of Agricultural Administration in Soviet Central Asia" - Project examined water politics, agricultural mechanization, the occupational reassignment of workers due to mechanization, and social change on the Central Asian farm. March 15-March 31, 1995- Short Term Scholar - "Democratization in the countries of the former USSR" - Project analyzed interviews among officials in USAID and the US Department of State regarding the implementation of democracy programs in the period 1992-1995.
