Born in 1951, Guram Odisharia is a public figure and award-winning Georgian author of nearly thirty poetic, prose, and journalistic books. He was awarded with over ten national and international literary prizes. His works have been translated into over twenty languages. He currently resides in Tbilisi, Georgia. He is known as an adversary to wars and is an active participant in Georgian-Abkhazian, Georgian-Ossetian, and overall Caucasian peace talks and meetings. He supports peace negotiations and sees that the only way to resolve any serious issues, including political ones, is through dialogue. In 2012-2014, he was the Minister of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia.
