Abdelhamid Adam, also known as Guy Josif, is currently a student studying international human rights and national security law at Georgetown University. Born in the Darfur region of Sudan, Guy was displaced by war and found asylum in Isreal. During his time in Israel, he volunteered for the African Refugee Development Center and Amnesty International while studying at Levinsky College of Education in northern Tel Aviv. In 2012, he arrived in the United States to attend the College of Lake County in Chicago where he focused on political science. After graduating in 2016, he was admitted into Harvard University where he studied international human rights law. As a student at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Guy also worked for the Africa Policy Journal as a co-managing editor, focusing on security challenges in sub Saharan Africa. His experience includes working as a translator to help victims tell their stories to the court, humanitarian director for Bani Darfur Organization, legal assistant for Project Expedite Justice, and student ambassador, among others.
