Expert Bio
Houari has always been passionate about photography, due to his sensitivity and openness to the world around him. In 2006, he joined a communication agency where he worked as a photo reporter, starting off as a freelancer. He studied photography at the Paul Valéry University (Montpellier) and at the Magnum Photo Agency (Paris). As well as being in charge of the photo workshop at the "La Grande Maison" association in Tlemcen, Houari teaches photography at the department of Arts and Architecture of the University of Tlemcen. His themes and exhibitions revolve around the human and its environment. He considers his work and his photographs as a testimony for a whole generation, present or future, as found in the series of "Poor Books" (2014) with Daniel Leuwers and J. de Jesus-Bergey as well as in the book about the Algerian désert "The wind will lead us towards the desert in Algeria" alongside the texts of J De Jesus-Bergey (edited by Edi'Lybris, March 2015).
