Full Biography
Jake Spring is Reuters’ Brazil Environment and Commodities Correspondent in Brasilia, where he writes extensively about the Amazon rainforest, environmental destruction and its impact on climate change. He also covers government regulation of agriculture, mining, energy and infrastructure. Before moving to Brasilia in 2017, Jake covered the electric car boom, economics, and financial markets for Reuters in China. Previously, he was the Editor-in-chief for the China Economic Review and the China Offshore Quarterly. He also hosts a podcast, the Foreign Correspondence. Jake holds a Bachelors degree in Asian and Middle Eastern studies from Northwestern University.
