Expert Bio

Jillian Segal is Australia’s Special Envoy to Combat Antisemitism,  Chairman of the Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority (IPEA), a Director of the Grattan Institute of Public Policy and Member of the International Board of the Weizmann Institute of Science.

Previously she was the President of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry, the national representative roof body of the Jewish community in Australia, as well as a non-executive director of ASX Limited (the national securities exchange)  and National Australia Bank.

She is a lawyer by training with degrees from UNSW and Harvard Law School and has been a partner in a major law firm in Australia as well as Deputy Chair of ASIC (the national securities regulator).

In 2019 she was made an Officer of the Order of Australia for services to regulation, not for profits and women.
