    Full Biography

    John E. Osborn is Senior Vice Present, General Counsel & Secretary of Cephalon, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company based in suburban Philadelphia, where he is responsible for all legal, government, and public affairs. From 1992-1997, he held various positions with The DuPont Merck Pharmaceutical Company in Wilmington, Delaware, most recently Vice President & Associate General Counsel. From 1989-1992, he served in the George H. W. Bush administration with the U.S. Department of State. Prior to that, he practiced corporate law with Hale and Dorr in Boston, clerked for Judge Albert V. Bryan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and worked on Capitol Hill. Mr. Osborn has been a visiting fellow in politics at Princeton University; a visiting lecturer at the University of Michigan Business School, Ann Arbor; a visiting scholar in East European Studies at the Wilson Center; and an Eisenhower Fellow to Ireland. He is a member of the Board of Governors of the East West Center in Honolulu, a trustee of the Tower Hill School in Wilmington, Delaware, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the American Law Institute.
