Full Biography
Jon M. Wolseth is a visiting assistant professor of anthropology at Luther College in Iowa. He is the author of Jesus and the Gang: Youth Violence and Christianity in Urban Honduras (The University of Arizona Press, 2011). He has published articles in the Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Anthropology and Latin American Perspectives, as well as chapters in Youth Violence in Latin America and Anthropological Perspectives on Learning in Childhood. His research focuses on human social development, interpersonal and social violence, religious belief, and drug consumption among children and youth. In addition to his work on gang violence and Christianity in Honduras, he is currently finishing a project on street youth, social identity, and drug consumption in the Dominican Republic.He received his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in 2004.
