Full Biography

Juan-Carlos Peña-Flores is a Staff Assistant Intern for the Mexico Institute at the Wilson Center. He is currently a first-year M.A. candidate at Johns Hopkins SAIS, specializing in Economics and Finance and Latin America. Before SAIS, he had the opportunity to be a Data Analyst Volunteer for the United Nations Development Coordination Office, and a research intern for Global Americans. He graduated with a B.A. in International Relations and a minor in Economics from New York University. He is especially interested in Mexico’s energy opportunities and the country’s transition towards decarbonization and sustainable development. Juan-Carlos is Bolivian-American and speaks English and Spanish fluently. After SAIS, he hopes to work as a development professional focused on the Mexico or the Andean region.
