Dr. Juan Romero, Associate Professor at Western Kentucky University, received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas Austin in 2008. His research centers on several topics related to the nationalism in the Middle East, including revolutionary movements in the region, issues of western imperialism, pan-Arabism, and the Cold War in the Middle East. His book, The Iraqi Revolution of 1958: A Revolutionary Quest for Unity and Security, was published by University Press of America in 2011.
