Full Biography
Julia Chang Bloch is the founder and Executive Chair of the U.S.-China Education Trust (USCET), a longtime leader in education programs and exchanges that promote mutual understanding between the people of the United States and China. She is the first Asian American in US history to attain the rank of ambassador. Ambassador Bloch in her 25 years of service in government also held various high-level positions at the US Information Agency, the Agency for International Development, and the US Senate, including two US-presidential appointments. In the private sector, she held executive positions at the Bank of America and headed the US-Japan Foundation. In academia, she has been associated with Harvard University’s Kennedy School and the Center of International Affairs, the University of Maryland, Peking University in Beijing and Fudan University in Shanghai.
