Expert Bio

 

Krista Henriksen is Acting Director General of Northern Strategic Policy Branch within Crown Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada.  Since 2015, she has worked as Director of Strategic Policy and Integration focused on coordination of Canada’s work in the North and the co-development of the Arctic and Northern Policy Framework with provincial, territorial and Indigenous partners.  Previously Ms. Henriksen has worked on Indigenous issues with the Department of National Defence, and as a Senior Analyst with the Treasury Board of Canada, Secretariat.  Ms. Henriksen earned her Master of Arts in Anthropology at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia.
