Expert Bio
Luiza Duarte is a journalist and a Global Fellow at the Brazil Institute, Wilson Center. Duarte has been active in the broadcast media industry since 2007. Before moving to New York to work as the US correspondent for CNN Brasil, she lived in Hong Kong as the Asia correspondent for GloboNews, of Grupo Globo, the largest commercial TV network in South America. She earned a Master’s Degree in Media Studies from the Panthéon-Assas University, French Press Institute, and she obtained her PhD in Political Science at Sorbonne Nouvelle University – Institute of Latin American Studies (IHEAL).

Environmental and Climate Diplomacy in Brazil
Project Summary
The research will focus on how growing relevance of environment policies and climate change can reshape Brazilian international relations and diplomacy. This work will explore the interactions between the US, China and Brazil in the recent years to analyse their dimensions, their contexts and understand the changes through climate governance.
