Expert Bio

Lyn Goldsworthy is a PhD candidate at the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies, UTAS, researching the challenges facing the Convention on the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) in a changing world. Previously she spent 35 years working in the non-government sector across many roles. She has had an involvement in Antarctic conservation for much of this time and was part of the team that worked to prohibit mining in the Antarctic and secure the Environment Protocol to the Antarctic Treaty. This led to her being awarded the New Zealand Antarctic Conservation Trophy in 1990 and an Order of Australia (Member) for services to conservation and environment in 1991. She has attended many Antarctic Treaty Consultative and CCAMLR meetings, and regional fisheries meetings, is a policy advisor to the Deep-Sea Conservation Coalition and serves on several non-government sector Boards and government advisory committees.
