Marzia Hussaini is a PhD student at the National University of Iran and is simultaneously pursuing a doctorate at Georgetown University. Her academic research specializes in water security, with a focus on the Middle East and Afghanistan, exploring the intersections of governance, climate change, and sustainable resource management.

 

Beyond her academic pursuits, Marzia brings extensive policymaking experience, having served as a hydro-policy advisor in Afghanistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In this capacity, she tackled critical water management challenges, including cross-border water security disputes and the strategic utilization of Afghanistan's water resources to foster regional stability.

 

Currently, Marzia is a journalist with a prominent international television network, where she covers Afghanistan and Iran related issues, including political developments, human rights, and environmental concerns. Her expertise across policy, academia, and journalism makes her a prominent and insightful voice on water security, regional geopolitics, and sustainable development in Afghanistan and the broader Middle East.
