    Full Biography

    Ms. Mi Ae Kim joined the NMFS Office of International Affairs, Trade, and Commerce in 2008 where she works to promote the sound management and conservation of global fisheries resources. She contributes to U.S. engagement with other countries and through various multilateral international fisheries organizations, in particular as the NMFS policy lead for the U.S. delegation in the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) and policy coordinator for the U.S. delegation to the International Whaling Commission. She also engages in international efforts to conserve threatened seabirds, domestic regulations for management of Antarctic marine living resources, and efforts to combat IUU fishing. Prior to working in this office, she was in the NMFS Office of Protected Resources, primarily handling interagency consultations under the Endangered Species Act.
