Full Biography
Monica Snyder is a first generation Brazilian-American pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Policy Studies coupled with a Certificate in Latin American Studies from Chatham University. Monica studied abroad during her second semester of her junior year in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil, studying at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina.
Monica is an active member in her community, having served on her Borough’s Council; organizing cultural community events, such as Brazilian Community Day 2019 and an event for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Student of the Year Campaign; and she had the opportunity to shadow Koppers CEO Leroy Ball and São José, Brazil Councilman Carlos Martins. Monica continues to be actively involved in leadership roles in University clubs, such as the Brazil Nuts Luso-Brazilian Student Association. She previously interned at Allegheny County Council, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia Chapter, and Koppers.
