Nick Miroff is a national security correspondent for The Washington Post who writes about transnational crime, drug trafficking and border security. He returned to Washington in August 2017 after seven years as a correspondent in Latin America, and wrote frequently about the Colombian peace process. For his coverage of the Americas, Miroff was the recipient of a 2017 Maria Moors Cabot prize from Columbia University as well as a 2014 Overseas Press Club award. He has been a staff writer since 2006. Miroff is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz, and the University of California, Berkeley, Graduate School of Journalism.
