Raquel Buenrostro

Raquel has more than 25 years of experience in public administration, where she has held, among other functions: Deputy Director General of Budgetary Control at the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP); Planning and Development Manager at Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), and Deputy Treasurer of Fiscal Policy; the latter, in the Government of Mexico City, during the administration of the current president of the Republic. At the beginning of the present federal administration she participated as head of the Senior Officers of the SHCP. From January 2020 to October 2022, she was Head of the Tax Administration Service (SAT). As of October 7, 2022, she was appointed as Secretary of Economy by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. She obtained a Master's degree in Economics from El Colegio de México and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from UNAM, where she was also recognized with the Gabino Barreda Medal for academic excellence.
