Raya Haffar el-Hassan was the first woman to be appointed Minister of Financefrom 2009 to 2011. Prior to her appointment, she acted as an advisor to the Minister of Economy and Trade from 2000 to 2003, and was a member of the Office of the Prime Minister from 2005 to 2009.
