Expert Bio

Rob Brouwer is the Canadian managing partner for clients and markets at KPMG MSLP, and regional head of markets for KPMG in the Americas. He is a member of KPMG Canada’s Management Committee and the KPMG Americas Management Committee.

Brouwer has over 30 years of experience as an audit partner and senior relationship partner for a wide range of public and private companies with operations in Canada and internationally, and in a range of industries.  

Brouwer has also served in a number of capacities in KPMG’s Canadian, U.S. and International head offices.  He has served as chief administrative officer for KPMG Americas, GTA regional managing partner, and as partner in charge of the Toronto audit practice. He was previously KPMG Canada’s senior accounting technical partner, and for many years national director of KPMG’s Mining Practice in Canada.

Brouwer's board and community involvement has included serving on a number of not-for-profit boards including the National Board of the Institute of Corporate Directors, Canadian Opera Company, Ballet Jorgen Canada, and Volunteer Toronto. His volunteer activities also include serving as faculty for the Institute of Corporate Directors/Rotman Directors Education Program, and fundraising for the United Way and the Hospital for Sick Children.  He has served on the Campaign Cabinet and the Major Individual Givers Cabinet for the United Way of Greater Toronto, the Fundraising Cabinet for the Hospital for Sick Children’s Research and Learning Tower, the SickKids Leaders Cabinet, and the Canadian Blood Services Campaign Cabinet For All Canadians.
