Roberto Artavia Loría is the Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors Social Progress Imperative. He is the President of VIVA Trust, an organization that combines strategic investments in productive endeavors, particularly in forestry and fair trade, with philanthropic activities, focused mainly on the promotion of leadership, innovation and the formation of civil society networks in Latin America. He is also President of Fundación Latinoamérica Posible, which promotes corporate social responsibility and sustainable development in Latin America. Dr. Artavia founded INCAE Business School’s Latin American Center for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development (CLACDS) where he worked extensively with the World Economic Forum to promote, deploy and position its indices – particularly the Global Competitiveness Report – in Latin America. He holds a doctoral degree in business from Harvard University.
