Expert Bio

Sally Al Mannaie is a Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) specialist with over nine years of experience in the humanitarian and development sectors, focusing on the MENA region. She has worked extensively with displaced and vulnerable populations, including in Zaatari and Azraq refugee camps in Jordan and displacement camps in northwest Syria. Sally currently contributes her expertise to advancing sustainable WASH solutions with a focus on community engagement and advocacy.


Throughout her career, Sally has supported the implementation and management of critical WASH interventions, including water station rehabilitations, sanitation facilities, and hygiene promotion programs. In addition to nature-based solutions, such as constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment, integrating sustainable environmental approaches into WASH programming. Sally specializes in technical assessments, collaboration with field partners, and ensuring compliance with global WASH standards to improve access to essential services like clean water, waste management, and hygiene awareness.


Sally has a strong background in capacity building, having facilitated training programs for field teams and developed advocacy materials tailored to diverse contexts. Her contributions have been featured on platforms such as the Sustainable Sanitation and Water Management (SSWM) Tools website.


She holds a bachelor’s degree in Water and Environmental Engineering from Al-Balqa’ Applied University.
