Expert Bio

Shirley Araiza Santaella is a third-year undergraduate student at American University in Washington D.C., where she is pursuing a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Public Health. She has previously interned for the Office of Senator Jeff Merkley (OR) and the Office of Representative Suzanne Bonamici (OR-D1). She has also lead an alternative break educational program to the U.S.-Mexico Border through her university, which explored the various issues that communities face in the region.
