William E. Golden, M.D. is Professor of Medicine and Public Health at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Medical Director of Arkansas Medicaid where he is the clinical lead for the program’s multipayer payment reform initiative. Previously, he served as the Vice President for Clinical Quality Improvement of the Arkansas QIO and designed numerous statewide quality improvement projects.  A past Chair the Board of Regents of the American College of Physicians, Golden served 4 years on the Board of Directors of the National Quality Forum and is a past President of the American Health Quality Association. He is currently on the Guiding Committee of the CMS Health Care Payment Learning Action Network. Dr. Golden received an AB from Brown University, an MD from Baylor College of Medicine, and internal medicine training at Rush Medical Center in Chicago.
