    Full Biography

    For more than ten years, Zhyldyz Urmanbetova has been researching democratic transition in Kygyzstan, tracing the influence of both Russia and the United States. She served as a Fulbright Scholar at the Harriman Institute of Columbia University in the 2009-2010 program year, studying this project in the context of globalization. She is the author of several monographs, including "Culture of the Kyrgyz within the Projection of History" (1997), "Philosophy of Culture" (2000) and "The Sources and Tendencies of Kyrgyz Culture Development" (2009).
