Raggovidda Wind Power Plant

Owner Varanger Kraft AS - Raggovidda wind farm is established on the Rakkocearro plateau which is located about 10 km south of Berlevåg. The facility covers an area of about 10 km2. The highest point of the facility is as high as 452 masl. The terrain consists of a surface covered with stone, so-called block land. The Group Board of Varanger Kraft made an investment decision at the end of April 2013. Most of the infrastructure in the form of roads, turbine foundations, cable systems and transformer buildings was carried out during 2013. Electrical systems were mainly built during the first half of 2014. Fifteen 80 meter high turbines were erected on site in 2014. In the first half year of operations, the 45 MW installation produced as much as 112 GWh, or 58,8 percent of capacity. In 2017, the Raggovidda produced 191 GWh. The company is looking to expand output in the future.
