This event was organized by the International Financial Centre of Montreal in close cooperation with the Québec Government Office in New York City in order to position Montreal as an attractive destination for financial institutions and promote the cost-effectiveness of the financial services industry in the Montreal region.

Its guest speaker was Michael Sabia, President and CEO of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, who presented an eloquent analysis of the international financial situation and pointed out that the Caisse continues to gain ground in the U.S. market, especially in the commercial real estate sector.

He urged financiers in attendance to invest in Québec, which offers many world class opportunities not only in high-tech industries like aerospace, information technology and life science, but also in the more traditional industries of natural resources and energy. He concluded his speech by reminding those in attendance that the Caisse de dépôt is a natural partner for New York financial firms interested in doing business in Québec.
